R.I.P Anton Yelchin

It’s with a heavy heart that we’re reporting on the death of actor Anton Yelchin at the far too young age of 27. He died on Sunday in a freak car accident. Full details have recently been released by police stating that he was trapped between his car and a mailbox pillar when he briefly got out of his vehicle on his steep driveway.

It’s incredibly sad news that has left us looking back at Yelchin’s work and wondering what he could have gone on to do.

Born in Russia in 1989, his family moved to America when he was six months old. He started acting at the age of 9 in independent films and over the next few years took on several roles in both TV and Film.

He became universally popular and recognised in 2009 when he took on the role of Pavel Chekoz in JJ Abrams’ rebooted ‘Star Trek’ series. He brought a lot of humour and heart to both the role and the film and went on to be in it’s sequel ‘Into Darkness’ and he will again be seen as Chekoz in July’s ‘Star Trek: Beyond’.

He will be remembered by most for that role, and rightly so, he gave us much entertainment in it, I however will always remember him in his role opposite Felicity Jones in indie film ‘Like Crazy’ – a film that portrays the difficulties and struggles of long distance love. He proved himself as an incredible actor with a lot of potential and I am sure he would have gone on to give us many memorable performances in the future. It’s a film that if you haven’t seen, I urge you to go out and watch as it is a brilliant portrayal of a ‘real’ relationship and love.
